Default Mounting Lights to Stock Roof Rack

Is it possible to mount lights on the stock rack? I know it has somewhat of a curve to it, but what i'm more concerned about is if i drilled through for mounting, would the roof rack crossbar be too thick for the lights to mount through a hole drilled in them?

After the lights are mounted, where do you run the wire?

I put 4 BAJA lights I got from Walmart on mine and they look and work great. Take a torx bit and loosen the driverside rail that runs from the front to back. Then drill a hole through the roof where the rail goes to run the power wire.Use the existing screw for the rail mount for your ground.Put a bead of silicone in the hole you drilled after you run the wire. Remount the rail ,drill your holes for the lights, mount your lights . Hook it all up and run your wires in the cab bahind the trim coming down the windsheild . And your good to go. It took me about 2.5 hours and well worth it . They work great and their only $20 per pair at Walmart. I think they are 4x7 inch or 5x8 . Use wire loom on the roof wires and your done. Good luck. Put a 2x4 under the rack so you dont over drill and go into your roof.

I ran them to my fuse box so I cant leave them on accidentally. They shut off when I turn off my Jeep.96 XJ.

I don't want them on all the time though. Only time I would use them if I'm at a trail at night.

Ok i have five, two with yellow glass and three with white that run on different switches. All the wires pass inside the roof rack bar and the ground is bolted on the roof.
The two positives go around the rail, enter the weather seal, and go in where the rubber of the door harness is.

They arent on all the time. I ran a switch to them then into the fuse block. I can turn them on whenever I want. Try it , you wont regret it.

Yes, in parallel of course, put a 40 amp relay in or buy a big switch.
