Default lengthening longarms

So i have a really nice set of long arms already...problem is i need them to be lke 3" longer! is it possible to achieve this by simply cutting them in half and welding another piece of DOM inbetween the two halves? or mybe just add the the short DOM to one end?

I dont think it will be as strong as it started out, but it can still be good. I might even entertain getting a "pin" to weld into one end of the tube to slide into the other and then weld them. I would also grind the edges of the tube down so you can get a weld bead built up from the very bottom of the tube and not just welding the tube as a butt joint. You will also get penetration to the pin from both tube ends using this technique. Most likely very overbuilt, but the less likely to fail the better

The strength of the arms would be greatly compromised especially if the radius link was in that region of the weld. I would also suggest making a sleeve of some sort so you could still maintian some structure for load bearing ability.

I would have the longarms themselves to donate as well as a cash payment for someone who would be willing build me some replacements that are like 4" longer

Are these going on a Cherokee? Why do you need them 4" longer? You can only really stretch the front 2" or so without some major fab.

But if you really want to you can keep your mounting backets and heims/ jam nuts, buy some longer DOM and bungs that will fit both, go to a local welder and boom longer links, and you can sell the 4 links you have now.
