Default D30 strength question

I have a D30 with 4.10 sitting around. Since I have some spare metal, I am thinking of beefing it up a bit before swapping my LP3.55D30. You think it’s a good enough design?

What size tires and what do you plan on using it for?

Other than aftermarket LCA brackets, I have a 100% stock hp 30. It has 4.10s & a lunchbox locker. It has held up to 5 years of abuse, it's a trailer queen that's gets a beating on every trip. The weak link, in my situation, is the u joints. If you tack weld the caps on or install full circle clips you will be good.
Its beefier than you think.

Currently on 31 now, will be up to 33 with curren plan, but want it ready for 35 if I decided to retire it from street.

I feel the most abuse from my usage will be the deep dirt road ruts I beat through at speed regular commute. Much more than trail riding at orv park. I am hoping axle won’t bent so I only have to worry about shocks bushing and ball joints...

so, the extra braces are probably not necessary in my case?

I have a stock d30 with 4:10 on 35's with a lunch box locker and a 8'' long arm lift and have been beating on it for awhile with no problems at all. Install it and drive!

Sounds like its not necessary, but it won't hurt as well.

I have all winter so I guess I will gusset them as a back-burner side project, if I haven't get it done by spring (where I no longer daily my cherokee) I will just paint it and install the axle as is.

Already have the 720x u-join purchased, I will add tacking u-joints on my list.

Thanks all.

Run it! I beefed up the passenger side up bracket, replaced the lower and coil brackets with TNT brackets, IRO C Gussets, Cavfab steering, tacked the u joint caps, regeared the axles to 4.56s and locked with Aussie lockers pushing 35s. I have never had an issue, but I know not to hit the skinny pedal while at full lock. I'm still on the fence on a truss and sleeve kit for it.

I always cap and gusset the passenger upper control arm mount. Cap the factory lowers if your gonna play on rocks and other hard objects.

The side gusset you have pictured for the track bar won't do much. if anything plate the face of the track bar mount and drill the proper sized hole for the track bar bolt. The factory metal egg's out after a while and before you know it you may be cutting it out to replace the whole mount. Gusseting the C's i don't see being very necessary for those tire sizes unless you plan on airing the thing out - even then I see the axle tubes bending before the C's bend.
