if you like the look its cool, but i do have some suggestions, bolt on... def not, i mean if you want it to be functional... if not then just bolt if up and paint it all black, the only way i could really see this keeping you from flopping forward is take it back to your bender buddy and have him bend the the two outer sections so that they are parallel than find your center on your bumper drill out the bumper with the 1.5"(or whatever the pipe is) holes at 45 degrees then slide that stinger through find your cuts bolt top and bottom, i still doubt it will hold but, it might keep you from floppin, thats the best i got, if you want it, make it happen... its just that your first photo was waaaayyyyy out there

My "stinger" is bolted to the stock bumper with 6 bolts. Chromoly main hoop and made the stocker really stiff for being practically sheetmetal. All I trust the hoop for is knocking down tiny saplings to protect my lights. All I have it for is looks really because I don't do any serious wheeling. With a hoop the size of the one you made if the hoop doesn't bend right away I can see it seriously messing up the bumper mounts even if you reinforce the unibody. Wayyy too much leverage

the more angle downward means, less stress on the tubing but still bracing is key as f said, that or crazy thick wall... theres a lot going into it being functional, strength of material, engineering, geometry of drop, i thought you might get more help than just hatin...

thanks crbnfibr, you have been pretty helpful idea-wise and not hating, which i appreciate.
as ive said multiple times, im cutting it wayyy down, probally so its about 35" tall. as i also said, i do hope to reinforce it a good bit so that it can withstand some beating...
In all honesty i figured if i bolt it all on and realize i don't like it, i could easily sell it on craigslist for some good money.... what kid with a poser jeep wouldnt want a stinger? (dont answer that) hahaha
as to the "how often do i go *** over teakettle", never.. not yet. but i always thought of it being there as more of a protection for the hood/motor in case of a funky roll.
and dont forget people, this IS about a 25$ build.. its not supposed to be bulletproof... just something to keep me busy while the jeep funds are low and weather is still too chilly to do a all day project.
and as i said before.. just because it is starting off as "bolt on" doesnt mean it can't be modded, beefed up, and made stronger

Poser here!!! HAha not really I do wheel a little but I am a broke college student and built mine in shop class. Can't afford more than free mods and the occasional backroad on the way home

urs isnt overkill tho it fits well
but yeahh im a college student too, every extra penny... my jeep just eats it lol
thats why if a 25$ mod like this looks good i can keep it and be proud of it (whether or not its fully 100% bombproof).. if not, ill just sell it for double and it is still a very fair price

Does no one read? If you're gonna take the time to respond to someone then take the time to read what the OP wrote in the first place... then say something useful instead of being a d-bag
