where is the ground connected to again?
|
does it just plug in off to the side in the housing? if so just beef that one up and take that connection off and forget the screw thing
|
okay so take the white wire(ground) off or jsut connect to the white wire? the hot wire runs to the housing. So run 10g to the housing and 10 gauge off of the existing white wire. yes this is with all 4 bajas i have the center two on one switch and the outside on another. story bought 25 amp inline fuse?
|
ya you can buy the large fuse housing at like any auto store, it has like 2 inches of wire on each side. the white nylon insulated wire with the rectangular metal piece is the hot wire not the ground. you punch or drill that hole so the 10g can fit through it and twist off

Ok so the fuses, the yellow and plastic housing and probably a high amp fuse, thats what you buy.
inside my Baja the white is hot and green is ground. what I did for my ground was I stripped about 1.5 inches off and twist it up to keep from fraying. then bend it in the shape of a "C" and lay it arround the inside of that curcular port the bulb drops into. the base of the bulb will just rest on it and ground it. Sorry, I had just done my overheads and theyre way different |

If I remember right the relays might be back there somewhere. I could be confusing this with a wrangler setup though. |
Ya Evmo I just took out my fog housing cut off the lame lens with a dremel all the way down to the black base. then cut out 1/8" clear plastic and epoxyed it on. but then when you scre it back it is like an inch recessed so its not flush, so I took off my chrome corner trim and cut another piece of plastic and epoxyed it to the inside of the trim so its double layered. no more bugs rocks or water in there!

okay i see the lights must be a little different. Thanks for the help!!! I'll go buy the stuff and post pics

My favorite mod that I've done, is the Power Inverter W/Outlets in the cargo area. I did a write up over on Naxja awhile back, i'll just post picks with a brief summary above them.
Mounted 1,000 Watt Xantrex power inverter, underneath passenger seat. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet4.jpg Plug a standard 3 prong extension cable into one of the outlets and run it under the carpet towards the rear passenger panel in the cargo area http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet7.jpg Measure 3 plug outlet to be used http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet9.jpg Cut hole in rear passenger cargo area panel http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet8.jpg Plug extension cord into the 3 plug outlet, press outlet into the hole (hole was undercut in order to be a snug fit.) http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet6.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet5.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...02/outlet1.jpg And there ya have it, 3 outlets in the rear cargo area, and still one available under the passenger seat. I'm thinking about doing another outlet in the dash somewhere. I've ran everything from work lights, to grinders, to drills. I also keep a long 3 outlet extension cord under the rear seat for extended range usage. How long can you run that light with the engine off? does it drain the battery like real quick? |
ya I dunno I probably wont do it now, I mean if it was as easy as yours I would do it in a heart beat, but Im not about to start that project haha out partying late last nite. thanks for your help though man! let me know if you think of any other cool tricks
|
deppending on what you run but if its a light like that or a TV probably 30-40 min then you will be in the red, but thats not my post thats just my guess
