home brew door panel water shield build

It seems to me that it's a lot harder finding interior panels and trim pieces for my 2-door cherokee. I had a 4-door and loved it. But I'm 6 foot 7 and the 2-door model with its much larger doors make it tons easier for me to get in and out of. I just fit better in it. And honestly, I just plain love the looks of the 2-door XJ.
My cherokee is a '91 base model, so she has 20 years on her. And for sometime now, I've been trying to find the Door Panel Water Shields because mine were trashed when I bought it. Here's a link to a site where you can view what I'm talking bout http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/par...iled/1948.html
They sell these for 20 bucks per door. Which isn't bad other than they don't sell or make the shields for the 2-door models. And I've looked everywhere.
So I've decided to make my own element shields for the 2-door model. And by element I mean rain, mud, dust, snow, and everything else mother nature can think of.
I've got a lot done and will be posting pictures and details very shortly.

I just had my door panels off to change speakers and mine were not great so I installed dynamat instead. Instant door liners and better sound to boot. I don't know if dynamat is any good for protection against the elements though.

Dynamat is great stuff but I don't think its water proof. The shields I'm making are pretty identical as far as looks go to the pic link I posted. Plus all my materials cost me about 20 bucks and I'll be able to make at least 20 sets of shields.
I'm getting on my computer now so I will have pics posted of what I materials to get and what I've got done so far. They're gonna be really nice and inexpensive. And help with road noise. They're just time consuming fabbing the first set.

Here is the plastic I am using for the shields. Its not thin at all and pretty heavy duty. This roll was $10bucks and it comes with 250sq/ft

This is a rough cut out of the driver side element shield. I still have to get the speaker opening cut, but i have to have it losely mounted on the door before i can do that.
Once everything is cut the way I want. I gotta figure out what kinda sealant/glue will work the best staying sticky and keeping moisture out. Any ideas?
