Air tight welds are very hard. Im a certified welder and sometimes I have to go back over welds to be air tight. I make oba systems often and usually use the a/c compressor and a old propane grill tank.

Oh and p.s., you will never het air tight welds without a relief hole for the pressure that builds up from the welding heat. The pressure will blow a hole in the weld before it cools and it will be a constant fight to try to seal it up. Drill a hole where your fitting will be and then weld it, much easier.

Haha! Just wear a resperator or at least a paper mask while burning that crap in. There is a bunch of galvanizing on XJ's, and you can get really sick from breathing it.

Since your not using sheilding gas, you could put a fan so you have a crosswind to clear the air.

I always drink a big glass of milk after welding anything that is galvinized. I have been told by a few welders that it helps to fight the galvinizing in your body. Also read it on the internets a time or two!!

I wet sand the primer then base then clear then buff, even for a jeep. If your not gonna put in the work just spray bomb it.
