Full Steel Front Fenders/Flares
So i took them off for some paint (had a rough first winter in MI, got a little rust)
what do you guys think about these? there full steel, and make excellent beer holders when your in the engine bay
I will probably re-do them in flat black and then run some flat black along the bottom of the jeep up to the quarter panels...

leave it all white, i think painting it black will look chity. right now it looks very clean and almost factory to the untrained eye.

The flare is actually thicker than the side construction, it comes out and bends down toward the inside, creating a lip; I'll take more pictures to illustrate this... I'm not good at explaining it , pics 2moro (sunday)

maybe I'll keep them white, my only problem with that is matching the color... My paint is white and ten years old, we all know matching white is very hard, so it will probably stand out, being more 'pure white'

The only type I've seen that you can buy and just bolt on (no fab needed), are about 2x thicker than the sheet steel of the fenders, but have a 1/2" steel tube around the outside edge, and reverse bolt on (from the inside), and they're quite hard to find. These look similar, but with a square edge, which I think looks more in keeping with the XJ body style. I've only actually ever seen them on TJ's so far tho, so seeing a similar style on an XJ is pretty cool.
