Default Front bumper with tow bar brackets

I'm fairly new to the forum and thought I'd share a few pictures of the bumper I built. It's 3/16 steel with brackets that tie into the frame back about 16 inches to grab a bunch of bolt holes. It's painted in bed liner

The tow bar mounts are for a Roadmaster tow bar and are bolted through the bumper with 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts.

It's the first bumper I've ever built so it was a great learning experience. Also my first Jeep.
Testing out the tow bar once the center section was finished.

Yep I started welding about a year ago and bought the Jeep this past October. Both have been a fun obsession! This forum had been a great source of info as I've worked through the various repairs/maintenance on the Jeep.

Looks pretty sweet. Any bumper in particular that you got ideas from? It looks pretty similar to my JCR bumper but without the D-Ring mounts.

Thanks! I borrowed ideas from a bunch of different bumpers including the JCR bumpers. I was looking to build a clean and simple bumper that would support a tow bar.

Did you build a JCR DIY bumper or buy one already welded?

I considered one of their DIY bumpers as I liked their design and the cost was pretty reasonable but ended up deciding I would rather get the experience of figuring it out myself. It was a fun and challenging learning experience.

I bought a DIY bumper and bent/welded it all together as a final project in my advanced metals class. Got an A+ mostly because my teacher liked my XJ but the bumper was decent too haha. I'll post some pictures of it.
