Flag Mounting Options

Question... If somebody were to want to mount a flag on their XJ. How would they go about it? I'd want the ability to mount a 3'x5' flag. I was thinking of finding a medal mount made for a house and then just weld it, but i'm not too sure how sturdy it would be. It would be nice to have when at the beach, rolling through town and wheeling. Thanks!

That wouldn't be strong enough, what I did was make a pole that bolts to a hitch insert. There's a ton of leverage imparted from the flag.

This.

OP, good hitch mount flag pole jeep xj. Someone did a write up a while back on this and made a flag mount out of galvanized iirc. Looked good

Here is what I did, combined a hitch ball with some tubing so that it had a cleaner look and is removable. If you look really close about 6" up you'll see a line where I sleeved it so that I could pull it off to open the hatch.
