Easy way to search CF
 

Okay...as the title says, this is an easy way to search CF...stumbled upon it recently. So...you can do a google search of the site by typing in a bunch of them pesky words in your search bar....or, you can just use the new feature Google has decided to put in your search results! Type "cherokee forum" into the Google home page, and you get this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=cher...x-a&channel=sb

See the box that says "results from cherokeeforum.com"? Type what you are looking to find in that box. Google will pull all the results from that box, and list them for your viewing convenience...isn't technology awesome??!!??

I will be posting this in several areas of the site, per request of the mods. Maybe it can be made a sticky for future reference? So...hope this helps people out...happy hunting!

All you have to do is type in :site:cherokeeforum.com (enter search term here)

or to be even more specific and just search in the modified section for example, :site:cherokeeforum.com/f67 (enter search term here)

You know that, I know that, and others have been told that. Yet nobody seems to do it. This is an easy way for those who either don't know how to search, or just don't care to remember to do it. Google has done the "work" for you, by searching just the site in your search results. Only reason I posted it was because it was requested by the mods that I do so. Just trying to help out those who come in and ask questions that are repeatedly asked only for them to be told "do a search"...and we all know the CF search tool is garbage.

Didnt mean any disrespect, like you I was just sharing my way for searching. Its also easier to do it on a cell phone that way. But yeah, it seems that most every forums search function is garbage. Sometimes if youre a paying member, theyll have a better search function but I still use google.

But anything that gets people to build their search skills works for me. I rarely ask questions because no matter what the problem is, someone else somewhere has been through the same thing. 9 times out of 10 you'll find your answer quicker with a search than posting a thread and waiting for a legitimate response

Thanks for the tip! I've been searching the long way with google & having to sift through all the useless entries. But it was still better than CFs tool.
