Hey!
I thought that i'd share my current project with you!
I'm making a Dukes of Hazzard styled brushguard/winch holder.
some progress pictures from today:

welded up some old excavator track wheels as tow hooks and tow eyes!

D-ring fitting is also important!
now all thats left is making the fittings for the frame, and a steel bumper inside my stock one! and bedlining it all black!

Tugging you out of a mud hole puts a lot of force to put on those welds, and if that thing came through my back window, I'd be pretty upset... lol
The design reminds me of the Olypmpic pushbar I had on my TJ for a while.

They were MTRs, but agreed, that's off topic.
I didn't post the pic to jack his thread. I only wanted to show what it may look like with a winch behind it to help give him some ideas.

i know those welds aint as they should be... the reason is that i only had some veryvery old alkaline (is this the right word?) electrodes/sticks. i'm going to clean them up and weld over them as soon as i get some new one's! they i used was mayby some years old... and that aint good for alkaline electrodes...
i'm going to strenghten it much more though, i'm going to wrap square bars along the edges and make a spiderweb out of the sides...
i'm going to make a steel bumper inside my original bumber, and cut holes to make "ears" for fitting it! it's a kinda longtime project since i just use what i find under the bench in the workshop and other places.
when money and time comes, i'll buy a winch!

i'm going to make a pair of these with time, at first i will mount it quick, as it's illegal in Norway to have bumpers that wont give up if u crash, it's actually illegal to make your own one though... i'm going to make it so i can quickly rip it off at first!

Is that image the "ears" needed to mount a bumper? I've been looking around for something like this so I can make my own bumper and/or tow hook mounts. TY!
