Bumpers. Work in Progress
5 Attachment(s)
Both are built with 3/16" 2x6 tubing. 1/4" brackets are used to secure both the front and rear. The rear is going to be tied into the factory tow hitch location to secure it a bit better. The front is still a work in progress. Just started it tonight. It's looking ok so far though??? Let me know what you all think. Criticism is also accepted as I want to know I'm doing these right. Would suck to lose one on the trail.

Just barely enough to mount my winch to it. Just measured it at 9". It will have 1/4" plate on top when done.

Looks pretty good!
Any pictures of how the rear mounts? I plan on making my own this summer, and am looking for some ideas. |
lookin good i really like how u angled out the front bumper i wish i would done that on mine...but mine is just flat :-(
make shure the mounts to the bumper are strong i made almost the same bumper and almost ripped it off 2 days ago
is it not finished yet?
It is finished now and painted. Has 1/4" plating on top. Still waiting to mount the winch though. Will post more pics when it is mounted and done. Thanks guys.
ig suggest gusseting the mount brackets up with some more of that plate. more strength is always a good thing on any mounting points. looks awesome tho i like the angle on it..
 |
is your winch gonna sit on TOP of your bumper? or in the area that was created in front of the front crossmember?
I like the angle idea alot. Good job on the design.
