bumper mounts...?

how do you guys have your frame mounts for your rear bumpers? i want to tie them in the best possible and have access to all the welding machining stuff, i am just wondering how you guys have your mounted?

just got done building mine... heres what i did and wish i would have done...

tip: use the old mounts as a template for your mounting brackets for the rear bumper.

tip: anything welded to the frame = permanent reminder of a termoporary feeling. (dont do it)

tip: get your steel at a recycling yard... ive got about $80 in steel and parts (3 big clevis's) for both bumpers and i think they look as good or better than the $800 plus that i would have spent to get that style i was looking for.

tip: stock locations for the brackets have proven to be way stronger than what i thought.

tip: really it is elementary to build, if you have the resources and the feeling of doing it yourself vs. buying the crap... priceless

hope this helps with your build.

ps: and for the last week ive been under my jeep using a chain hoist off the bumper d-ring/clevis's and saw no flex or bending.

Mine is bolted the the factory location, plus I ran a strip of 2" wide by 1/4" thick stock and bolted it to the factory tow hitch holes. Hasn't budged at all and I've pulled my fair share of people out. Kinda like this http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/...unibodynew.jpg

make a bracket off the factory mounts. weld it to the bumper.
