So I got bored and decided to build a roof rack so I went and picked up some scrap sch 40 1.25" pipe for pretty cheap, 35$ for almost 120 feet. I had a harbor freight pipe bender and pipe notcher that I used for everything and I welded it all with an old Hobart beta mig. Anyways, it all went together pretty well and despite my crappy welds the things beefy as hell. I made it really low profile, only like 1.5" between the pipes and I put a 16 ga perforated metal floor on it. I put some led pods on the back cause my reverse lights don't work haha and soon I'll be making some axe and shovel mounts for the sides. Well that's about it, thanks for lookin guys. And I'll get some more photos tomorrow, I didn't realize I didn't have much on my phone haha

Looks good, think if you bought some gutter mounts you can drop it even lower without the factory roof rails supporting it.
|
Yea I thought about it but I wanted to leave a little room for the cross bars to flex if it ever got over loaded.

Looks good. I have that exact same welder. Thing is a beast, I've burnt holes in 3/8" plate.

Nice. I like the low profile look.

Nice. Those bends came out pretty nice with that HF bender, I was looking at that the other day.
