I really had a ton of questions going through this build, but I didn't have enough posts for the Fabrication Forum. Well...here it is. |
Did you replace the carpet with bed liner throughout the whole cab? If so, do you notice a lot more noise/heat while in the drivers seat?
Also if your interior is gutted, this might be a good time to open up the sub frame rails from inside the vehicle. Maybe get rid of any rust that's hiding in there. If you live in a rusty area. |

Solid job, like it or hate it.
Well done. |

Noise
The factory carpet smelled like wet dog mixed with fish on a hot day. I pulled it out, and had the crazy idea to do the interior. after I fabricated the interior, I did apply peal and seal alum. flashing to the non visible portions of the panels in hopes that would help the noise. The cabin is really noisy now, and hotter.
I coated the inside and out with Monstaliner. That was a pain. The underbody and frame had very little rust. There was a small rust hole in the passenger floorboard that I repaired. |
weight gain
This is not my first build, but this is my first Jeep build. Honestly, I didn't put enough thought into how much weight all these mods make. I guess I lived and learned on this build. I should have started with a standard shift, manual window set up.

Nice work. It's not what I do to my rigs but really nice.

I like the work yo did. I been planning to do some similar work - inside. I want it to be waterproof -- or at least able to go through the car-wash without drowning... :-/ Its hard to really see but some looks fiberglass, some of the flat pieces maybe metal? Could you please post more pictures ? ...with more specific description ? &/or even repost a bit larger?? :-D |
