97+ 2 door tube doors. New latch idea that works and is cheap or free
 

I built some tube doors last weekend on my 99.
The hinge has a 12 1/2" long 1.5" wide piece of angle iron. I have 2 3/8" bolts with the threads cut off and a slight bevel for easy drop in install. The bottom bolt bein longer than the top.
I used 1.5" .090 hrew. Roughly 8' a side.

Now for the latch I came up with this idea of using a factory XJ hood latches as door latches. These ended up being a perfect fit and I have no rattling whatsoever!

Sweet idea. Good thinking out of the box.

not as nice as yours but used some stock door mounts I had to build off of and fence latches for the door pins after this picture I covered the top flat part with pipe insulation for padding. total cost for both doors $35
