Ill have to wait for the one that is not about trail damage.

crdude 05-19-2014 09:54 PM

I don't think mines all that bad, but I'll enter just to fill a spot.

Lowrange2 05-20-2014 05:33 AM

Please do since today is the day to start the poll and we still don't have enough entries... I need one more folks. Go out in the parking lot, drive your Jeep into the closest tree, take a picture and post it here.

You ain't wheeling hard enough if you don't have any CARNAGE.

Sorry, but I completely disagree. You can wheel plenty hard and not suffer body damage or busted parts. It all depends on how smart of a wheeler you are. If you can place your vehicle correctly, take the proper lines, and take it slow, you can get through most areas without a scratch. I'm not saying that trail damage makes you an idiot, it just means you wheel differently than someone else who doesn't have the carnage. I've been in tight spots, nearly flopped over, and leaning against rocks, but by being smart, I've gotten out of those situations with just a few scrapes to the flares and snorkel. I've grenaded a rear end and killed by steering because I wasn't careful in those situations. I've got a couple small dents and plenty of trail striping, but nothing I would call carnage. It comes down to how you wheel.

I agree but I will tell ya one thing I've learned.

When I first started wheeling my Jeep didn't have a scratch on it. MINT condition 1993 Cherokee Country, perfect paint, perfect interior, 4.5" lift with some 33's. I used to take it out wheeling being SOOO careful not to scratch it. After being extremely careful I got that first little dent. A rock found it's way into my rear quarter panel. Since then, wheeling has been 10 times more fun. I love the fact that if I'm in a tight spot I can put the body against a tree, cut the wheels hard left and pivot around the tree on the body without a care in the world.

With that said, this has never been my only vehicle. I have my Z71 that I drive frequently as well as another 99 XJ that doesn't have a scratch on it that I wheel the easy trails with. So, I can see how some folks wouldn't want to beat the crap out the body.

IMO, wheeling is WAY more fun when you don't have to worry about the body. This past wheeling trip I managed to push the rear quarter in about another 4 inches. :D

I agree on this. I just hate it when someone says people don't wheel hard enough if the body is clean. That's just not the case. I'll be honest, once I have a cage in mine and it's not my DD, then I'll be willing to take more risks and let the body get some good carnage on it, but for now, I still like it to look good. But that's me.

Not to start a pissing match.

I wheel hard because it is not my daily driver and I want to.
I enjoy the challenge of going where the big boys, in there V8 42" buggies go.
I have never shown up to a location and NOT had someone recognize my rig and say I can't believe where you go with that rig.

I have been wheeling for 30 years.

I have only broken on the trail 1 time, and it was a design flaw in the early tera 4.0 case.

And as stated my rig was pristine, but I have way more fun now that I got over the first CARNAGE.

Agreed, no pissing match here at all. I just try to stick to not being a critic of whether some one wheels hard or not based solely on whether their Jeep has carnage or not. Not saying that's what you were doing. Just making a point towards those who do.

Trust me, once it's not my DD, mine will see some carnage because I'll definitely go harder.

Lowrange2 05-21-2014 02:22 PM

Poll will go up tomorrow whether or not we get 5 entries.

JRT1393 05-28-2014 04:17 PM

Dang I'm a few days late, I'd entered if I'd thought about it. None of my doors are quite straight and neither are my rockers or factory bumpers. I guess I'm just not on here enough anymore
