CJ -1955-1986 5's are small 7's are bigger 8's (scrambler) are alot bigger
crappy suspension skinny leaf springs, best swapped out to YJ suspension
4.2l, 5.0l, 5.9l, 2.5l GM and 2.5l AMC engines, all kinds of trannys, dana 30 pass. droop and AMC20 rear 1986 had a Dana 44 in back dana 20 and dana 300 t-case
YJ- 1987-1995 The 'Bastard" Jeep because of the square headlights. I have had 2 1987 is the worst year possible 1987-1989 has a Peugeot - no good-
4.2l, 4.0l, 2.5l engines Amc Dana 30 and Dana 35 ax-5, ax-4, ax-15. NP 231 t-case
TJ - 1997-2006 Three versions of this one you have 1997-2002, 2003-2006 and 2004-2006 TJL (LJ). The 1997 is again not the greatest, just like the XJ 1999 is most desirable. 2003-20006 had a Rubicon option w/ 44's lockers, etc. 2004-2006 TJL is the long wheel base. Great Jeep, awesome suspension. 4.0l, 2.5l, 2.4l engines. ax-4, ax-5, ax-15, and NV3550 trans. 231 & 241 t-cases d30, d35, d44 F & R options

both our tj's ride like freakin lumberwagons. but they are fun to offroad on a nice day.
the cherokee is just waaay too hot inside on a hot sunny day. but is a waay more comfortable drive both on and off road.
