white paste in oil cap ,NOT in oil
so i have white paste in my 2002 4-Runner. Nothing on the dip stick ,not in the oil filter and dropped the pan and NOTHING,Only when i remove the oil cap there is a hint of water/oil......FYI i live about 1,000 feet from the ocean moister maybe ??? Oh its not getting hot or using water ...Am i being PARANOID ?

There is condensation in there somehow. My old Toyota pickup had the same issue. Never cared enough to do anything with it tho.
Do you run the vehicle for short periods of time, shutting it off before it gets fully warm?

I would say normal condensation too. Its more common to see that when having cooler weather, humid air or short trip driving. Dont get too worried about it, but you might double check the oil and coolant levels for a few days just to make sure.

A sign for this is also. Do you start your vehicle and immediately take off, or do you let it warm up for a couple minutes?

My 2000 Durango had the same issue and it turned out to be a blown head gasket between cylinders 1 and 3. Did the heads and now I dont have that issue. Just something to think about. But most likely it is condensation.
