Okay, so i am getting ready to re-gear my 1996 dodge ram 2500 that has a 6 inch lift and has 37 inch tires i am tired of the lose of power since i did the lift and tires. I am thinking 4.56's with a lockers, since it does see off road. This truck is mainly for to and from work and towing my jeep to the spots to wheel. Let me know what you guys think thanks.

For 37's, 4.56's would work but if youre towing stuff pretty often i'd go with 4.88's. Since its a 2500, im assuming it has a Dana 60 rear? Maybe a 70 if its a dually? Anyways, Im not sure where TXstiGuy gets his info but youre not gonna have to pay anywhere close to 2500 to regear it front and rear. Half that at most assuming you pay someone else to do the work. If you dont wheel it that often, i'd throw a couple lunchbox lockers in it and call it a day. They work just fine.

Yah i know it wont cost that amount. I am gonna do everything my self i just gotta get a new carrier for the front and yes its a 60 up front. i just tow my jeep on the flat bed. maybe twice a month or soo. i thinkin 4.56's will work for that but didnt think 4.88's.

Towing with 37's and 4.56's would be pretty sluggish. They'd be just about perfect for the street and since you dont tow quite that often, thats what i'd go with although the 4.88's would give you that extra little bit of pulling power when youre tryin to haul up a steep hill/mountain
