v8 sounds like import?
Haven't been here for a while and need help. My 99 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 gas sounds like a 4 cylinder import with an air intake! The truck is stock. Recently the exhaust broke right before the cat. It's welded back on and the exhaust manifold flange are tight(found they were loose when cat was repaired). All plugs were replaced same weekend due to cylinder 8 had a misfire.
Okay, so 2 days driving, good. Third day, I floor it, it loses power and sounds like a 4 cylinder with an air intake. The truck won't go up hill more than 25mph.
It's been 5 days now no check engine light, but it flashes when I floor it and I ENGINE bogs down, then light turns off....HELP!

Went ahead and disconnected the exhaust at the manifold and now she does 0-60 in 10 seconds, instead of 10 minutes. New cat it is!
