trans fluid leaking

Will transmission fluid leak from the top of the pan at the sight of the Neutral Safety Switch on a 83 wagoneer, if so is it difficult changing that switch?
Is it possible to be leaking trans fluid at the site of the Neutral Safety Switch? Is this an easy fix?
This is on the Wagoneer 83 to be exact
