Stuck High Throttle Speed
My throttle speed is stuck at an extremely high speed - thought I was going to blow my engine. I have a 92 Wrangler and the throttle cable is broken, so I need to replace it, but I'm not sure that is my only problem. The cable next to it, which goes to some kind of canister, is broken as well, but I'm not sure what it is. I can't find a good diagram/picture anywhere. Could a sensor be bad? Maybe one that controls my throttle? Please help! Thanks!
The other cable is the cruise control. First, remove the snorkel that comes from the airbox and see if the throttle valve is stuck open - if the cable(s) being disconnected are the only problem it should start and idle normally, so determining if the throttle is somehow stuck open or if it's something else is your first order of business.
