Usually when the trans is dumping fluid out of the vent tube it could be over filled. It will also come out of the vent tube if the trans is slipping and creating a lot of heat. I just had that problem with my XJ. What are the conditions at which the fluid is coming out of the vent? Long uphill climb? stop and traffic? Do you notice the trans slipping at all.
You may want to drop the pan and change the filter and get some new fluid in there.
