Gotta finish one project before I start the other. Hope to pick one up within the next 2 years as a "retirement gift" to my self. Being that I plan on opening my own place when I get out of the Air Force in 2 1/2 years, it'll make a nice shop truck...show off what I can do. See what happens.

Standard M35 A1/A2/A3 2 1/2 ton "Deuce and A Half" Vietnam to mid '80s era cargo truck. A1s are multi fueled. A/2s and A3's were diesels with or withoutturbos. The A1s can pretty much run an any liquid that will burn. Basically, lop off the rear most axle, shorten the frame. Flip the rear hubs, add HEMMIT 42"or 49" tall tires and add a bed. Either shorten the exisisting bed, custom fab one, or find a single axle military trailer(M101) and use that box for the bed. Saw it done on Spike TVs Extreme 4X4. Grew up on Ft Bragg NC around these things and love the sound of the turbo/ exhaust. Id rather have a GammaGoat (articulated 6X6) but those are almost impossible to find in any kind of decent condition. Dueces can be had for as little as $1500 and are retarded easy to work on. Run on a 24V elec. system. Manual tranny, super Tcase with lots of gears and Rockwell toploader axles. Some even have PTO driven winches.

No, I don't lick fish.
Oh man... Check out the episodes on "bobbed deuce" on extreme4x4. Lots of good info on these. Sure made me (and my wife) want one.

Yeah I hear thats an issue. Looking at 4 wheel disc brake conversion and/or pinion brakes. The old monster trucks run pinion brakes and the can pull the reins in pretty hard and stop them things quiet fast. Just an option Im looking at. Research, research, research.........
