Looking for a DD truck.
I am looking for a truck to use as a daily driver and to haul my XJ around, for preferably $6,000. I would prefer an automatic with 110K or less. Also, I'd like it to be 2WD, because if it's 4WD I'll be very tempted to do the whole lift/tires/armor crap again which is something I don't want to do on a non-XJ. Is this possible to find for my budget, especially if I walked in to a private seller with cash in hand?
Please list suggestions and maybe elaborate a bit on why. Thanks a ton.

Id find someting with a little bit better powerplant than the 5.3. No offense devilstoy but ive always thought that the 4.8 5.3 and even the 6.0 were pigs. Hell even the last years of the 5.7 didnt seem to have the power they should have. Especially since you want to tow your XJ, once you start adding all the bumpers and crap they start to get a bit heavy.
You may need to look a little bit higher in your mileage range but maybe even a older diesel wouldnt be a bad idea.

I do wish I had a deisel , but my 5.3 pulls everything I hook up to it , I tow my xj with when needed and I'm really into motorcycles and have and 7x16 enclosed trailer that'snot light empty and I tow all up and down the east coast with no problems , I got 100k miles on mine and 75% of those are with a trailer , I'm deff nit disapointed in what this truck can do , if u can get a newer deisel for a good price then yea get it , but I have nothing but good experiance with my 5.3

The 5.3 is in no way a bad engine. I just wish they had a little more power. I am however a very big fan of the 350 so my opinion may be a little bit biased...
