KJ going to 33's or 31's, can't decide
Anyone run 33 inch tires on a KJ with anywhere from stock suspension, to a 3 inch lift? I know 31's will fit with minimal rubbing if any at all, but I would prefer 33's so when I do my SAS in the spring I don't have to shell out more for a new set of tires. The max I can lift for now is 3 inches and KJ's don't give you any trim-able sheet metal behind the flares. Either way the tires would be 10.5 wide. And waiting for spring to get tires is not an option. The winters here are nasty and the oe highway tires (wrangler st POS) are beyond worn out. Any ideas?

I have close to 23k on mine, and the first 19k were DD duties on the highway to and from work for my mom so you know it was babied. I can let my clutch SLOOOOOOOOOWLY at a stop sign at idle with n ZERO throttle and if the ground is the slightest bit wet they spin and the TCS kicks in. I got a lecture of "the thing is 2 years old, you should have another 2 to 3 years left on those tires" She didn't take too kindly to the blatant laughter. I drive nearly all windy hilly back roads to work and school daily and the plow job on these roads is non-existent until 3 or 4 in the afternoon so with a foot plus of snow so I want the largest tires I can squeeze under it for obvious reasons. Thanks for the links. I'll check em' out.

No, my mom did. XJ was in her name, but I had close to 8k in work into it so as far as I'm concerned it was mine, but the law said otherwise. The link has the full story.

And yes, they do turn... in a straight line Gonna get the lift mid week hopefully, throw it on, and see what kinda trimming and bump-stopping needs to be done.

I'd gladly do so.... But there isn't any fender available to hack on a liberty. You can trim up to the door behind the plastic in the rear (which is what I'm in the process of doing) but it requires lots of cutting and welding, and gains a half inch of clearance.... nothing more. And directly behind the wheel well plastics up front is the swiss cheese excuse for engine bay metal. No room there either. I'm lucky I have friends who can weld, I do nothing but burn holes.
