Which Jeep would you choose ?

I sold my XJ a while back to focus on some house work . Things have progressed abdcim ready to buy another Jeep but wanting a wrangler this time . I have inquired about a 88 Sahara I pass to andnfrom work for several years . The owner passed away and the family now wants to sell it to me. I went and finally got to really check it out Monday . The old man that owned it soentba lot of money on it . It has an ARB air locker in front with on board compressor , iwas a hs9500 warn winch in front with Tomken front and rear bumpers and rock sliders and swing out tire/hi-lift/gerry can holder and cargo rack , it is lifted with full leafs and drop shackles in front , American racing wheels and 33/10-50/15 tires but they’re 17 years old and duento be replaced even though they have new tread. The interior had all been replaced with new seats and carpet . It has a hard top with built in tie downs , comes with extra D-Rings, come alongs, tow straps , a bikini top and all sorts of stuff, transmission appears to be newly rebuilt as does transfer case, engine is dry and held fantastic oil pressure and has been converted to a Weber carb . Despite the bad gas with some fresh gas and a jump I was able to cruise town . It also has hella lights all across front bumper . It needs painted and some POR-15 all underneath for surface rust but has no through rust on body . But the Jeep is very solid and has the 4.2 and 5 speed . Second option is a 97 TJ 4.0 5 speed on 33/12.50’s in near perfect condition with 130k lifted 4.5 with new soft top has been re geared , new clutch etc but will need new tires within the year . YJ can be bought considerably cheaper but needs TLC. I love the history of the Jeep the family told me and all that’s been put into it . The other Jeep I love just as much . What would you do ? And open to all info I do not know much about the early Jeeps.

do you have good pics of both of them?
Sounds like they both could be good options. Depends on what you really feel comfortable spending on a new (to you) rig.
Sounds like other than new shoes the first one is a pretty complete build. And good to go.
If it blows your hair back.... and you wouldn't want to change anything then that might be the right one.
If you'd rather take one that has some good build progress completed but you'd rather add the finishing touches to make it your own. Then maybe option B is the best one. All depends on what is more important to you at the end of the day.

I know there are plenty of Jeeps that wheel awesome with them, and I know XJs have them in the rear, but after owning a CJ-7 I just decided I don't want leaf springs any more. Based on that alone, if it were ME, I would choose the TJ over the YJ. But maybe that is not an issue for you.

Now that my kids are growing up im thinking about getting a wrangler. I always wanted one but they were so impractical being so small. One of the reasons I got I to cherokees in the first place. One thing I am always contemplating is whether a YJ would be an uncomfortable ride with leafs in front. Back in the 90's though from about age 16 to 19 my best friend and I used to raise hell in his parents 92 wrangler islander edition and I don't recall it being horrible. And my lifted 98 XJ rides pretty harsh with coils anyway.
