Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Alright guys a buddy at work sent me this Grand Wagoneer that his dad has. He's going to get more info today but he's asking $300 or he's taking it to the scrap yard. What's the odds it has D44s under it? He said the motor turns and it ran when parked. So I think it's saveable. Worth $300 y'all think?https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...5cdd57d3be.jpg

I have always thought they were neat vehicles. If I can get this thing running I would love to semi restore it and drive it. If not Ill grab the axles and part it out.

It's definitely got 44's! Dude, save it if you can. Don't start hacking it apart if it's salvageable. It's got all the glass and trim! If the frame isn't rotted out you've got a good project. Even if you don't want a project, get it out of there and you'll be able to sell it for more than 300. There are wagoneer enthusiasts out there who fully restore these things. There's a guy somewhere around my area that restored 2 or 3 of them already. Save the waggy's!

If I can get it running I want to do a slow resto on it. get the panels and clean it up. I think it has the v8 in it but not sure. Either way, be cool as heck!

I believe all Grand Wagoneers had the 360 V8, only earlier (pre-1984, after 1984 "Grand" was the only trim) base Wagoneer (not "Grand"/"Limited") models and Cherokees (SJ) had the I6. Of course the carbureted 360 V8 (160HP) makes less power than the fuel-injected 4.0L I6 (190HP) in the XJ, but more than any of the carbureted I6s offered in the SJ (or CJ).

some motivation for you :)

It has the 360. Got it for $275. All the missing front end was in the vehicle.

Love them old Jeeps. I say fix it up. My grandfather owned two Wagoneers many years ago, but were much older. A 62 and 63, i think. Wish we still had them.
