I just got an 81 CJ5 Renagade and was wandering who else on the forumhas a CJ. Post pics of yours if you can.

I will most likely have a lot of questions baout CJs. Examples :Like where is the best place to get parts and what other jeep parts will fit on my CJ.

It needs a lot of work

I like it. My father had an 85 CJ7 for awhile..

I see it has the AMC 20 rear axle..

What are your plans for the CJ5?

cool stuff. I have a 82 cj5. Got it last fall, worked on it over the summer and plowing with it this year

258, 4 speed, d300, amc 20/30 w 2.73 gears

I was told scorring axles from a 72-75 cj5 would get me 3.73 or 4.10 gears and a dana 44 rear end which would be ideal. They would be drum brake, but the disk setup from the 82 d30 could be put on the 72-75d30 without much effort.

Yeah I have 3.73 is my 30 and 44 in my 75. Do you have a 20 in the rear now?

Thank you. Color is 2004 TJ Khaki. Green is NOT my favorite color but the khaki goes good with the YJ cloth Sahari interior.
