I have a 97 F250 4X4 Ext Cab 3.55 gears, intake, 3" downpipe on 33" tires. I get 14.5 mpg with winter blend fuel mixed city highway driving. Summer months I get 16.5 mpg with mixed city highway driving. On the highway if i keep it at 65mph I get 20-21 mpg with summer fuel. I havnt taken a trip with winter blended fuel yet. What kinda mileage #'s are you seeing. I drive mine like theres a glass of grape juice on the seat, I rarley go over 2,000 rpm's. If I drive it normally i only get about 10-12 mpg's Is the 06 a 6.0??

The 6.0's were garbage. I have a buddy that works at an international/navistar dealership as a tech, when I was looking for a diesel he told me to avoid the 6 liter like the plaugue. Theres so many problems with them the ford garages send them to international alot of times. It was a poor engineering design all the way around. The 7.3 is tried and true, the newest versions (not built by international anymore) seem reliable but only get 8-10 mpgs.

we have a boat load of 6.0's that come into our shop with a ton of mileage--one has over 500k on the odo--the 6.4 diesel got-gets terrible fuel economy and has radiator issues--the all-Ford 6.7 seems to be doing very well and as good if not better economy than the 6.0--i do however own a 2001 f350 7.3 which gets around 19 hgwy who cares city--and i recently parted with a 2001 excursion with a 7.3 that made it well into florida from baltimore on 1 tank of fuel (45 gallons) - was getting 19.7 on that trip!!!

-well this particular "repo-wheel lift F-450"-is well maintained--so i would say quite a bit-but please put into perspective the fact that this truck only stops for maintenance----i'm not sayin the 6.0 hasnt been a nitemare-but just like anything else-proper maintenance is tantamount to longevity!!!

It depends on the motor, the truck, and the way you drive it. My dad in Helena gets about 20 city with the new 6.7 cummins in a 2500. I get around 20 city and highway. When I drove to F-350 from Bozeman, MT to Salt Lake City, I was gettin almost 25 most of the way, but thats with an Intake. (I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes)
