Question Engine swap? wagoneer

My bad I know this is not a wagoneer forum, but I know someone who want to trade me his jeep. The problem is I have heard that the old 230 inline 6 is hard to find parts for, would an inline six from a later wagoneer swap in, the wagoneer I am talking about is a 1964, but they changed engines in 1965, the later engine had more power and would be cheaper for parts. Any help with this would be cool thanks.

I guess the question would be do any jeep engines still used the 230 bolt pattern?

I believe that bolt pattern was different than anything before or after. It's an oddball, and you are correct- some parts just aren't available.
