Default Chevrolet fun

This is my wife's 99' Suburban. It's a K1500, 5.7L.

We put 256,000 on the first 99' burban we had, and I liked working on it, so when it threw a rod I found the next one cheap.

The kid who owned it had cut the exhaust off and was running straight pipes, and getting too many tickets for noise.

It also had 4wd issues.

I figured y'all might like to see some JB weld at work! This is the top of the transfer case.

So I bought the 'case saver' that GM should have given EVERYONE for FREE.

I digress.

Anyway, you can see the major damage done by the chain doing what it wants. Bad bearings, bad seals, NO fluid left, (see hole)

PUMP RUB. I don't have a hole yet. Not as bad as others I have seen.

Filled it in with JB weld.

Waiting for the rebuild kit to show up. I'll post pics of the process when I get going. Thanks for listening, the wife doesn't care much for transfer cases and the dog is deaf.

The 57' ****** is sitting in the garage WAITING for me to get to work. I stepped in a pile of Chevy on my way out to the garage.
