Go onto LS1tech.com and search around, they have a section for the older LT1's I believe. Honestly I hate the LT1 motors, they are finicky as hell and really dont behave well to mods. Well at least not nearly as well as the LSx motors do. Either way you will need a tune if you boost it, no matter what. I would say on a stock LT1 with a good tune you might be able to push 6-8lbs of boost before you start running into major issues. I honestly would scrap the LT1 idea and look around for a nice LS1 motor and do a head/cam swap. You can get a nice reliable 420 rwhp, at least, and it will sound sick

Why complicate it with a turbo? You should be able to get 400+ Hp out of that motor with ease if you build it right.

Cheaper to make power with a LS1 than a LT1 IMO.

Forget the nay sayers and LT1 haters... If you have the engine or can get one cheap then there is absolutely no reason to track down and buy an LS1.

If you are stuck on the idea of going forced induction then try not to go more than 5 PSI. The weak point is the hypereutectic pistons. Despite what the LT1 haters say...The bottom end on the LT1 is pretty stout.

OR.....

Call up Lloyed Elliot and get the LE2 heads, put headers on and let her rip! It would be cheaper and will make some great power numbers.

You can easily get those HP numbers from heads and cam... Don't underestimate that LT1

Honestly the Buick 455 block is stout enough to handle 600 hp. I would build that up and run that. Not only is it going to be easier then the LT1 but you get the odd factor when people ask what engine and you say Buick Big Block.
