Anyone own a Honda NX 125 out there?
Ive had this '88 Nx 125 for about ten years. I picked it up back in 99 for a couple hundred dollars from a nieghbor who was the second owner. I had the thing on the road till '01 and then put it into storage till '06 where it sat in my driveway till now.
Its a great little enduro that gets a nice 80 mpg. In May I decided that it was time to get her back into running condition and use it to run into town here and there and do some trail exporing where my jeep wont fit width wise.
Its capable of 60 on flat out stretches but Ive heard that the later years came with a 48 tooth rear sprocket instead of the 56 that mine has. Wondering how much of an improvement that makes in the top MPH. Its not a powerful bike but is a great little puddle jumper.
New tubes/tires, chain, had to fiberglass the tank because of rust holes and odds and ends here and there but Im just about ready to get her tagged, inspected and insured as soon as the winkers arrive.
Also Id like to fab a rear mount that will go into hitch reciever so that I can get it from "point a to point b" without a trailer and without having to push it hard to get to the trails. Wondering if anyone else uses this type of set up on the back of their XJ.. weighs in at about 300 pounds or 130 kg.
