Advice on a different car issue
1 Attachment(s)
I have used Google and cannot seem to find an answer to my question. The picture attached is a Schrader valve attached to a fuel filter obviously but can the valve be left permanently installed? I have a new to me truck that I think is having a fuel delivery issue and want to check pressure just wondering if it safe to leave the valve.

yes. several vehicles have them permanently mounted on the fuel rail(s) from the factory.
Just put a screw cap on it, Cliffy. Should be good to go.
Thanks guys, from the looks of things it seemed reasonable to do it.
Sorry buddy, but I couldn't help myself. It says "made in China" on that filter!
It is all good, that is a downloaded picture not my truck. I did swap my fuel filter but it didn't cure the issue. I have seen fabricated housings that temporarily install in place of the fuel filter and the schrader valve pictured. That valve looks like it will be in the way of the air cleaner if installed up top so the picture is what mine will look like when I can. My back is in knots after work last week and I changed the oil and installed a hitch on my DD Saturday before it made me tap out. Now I have to check my filter for that made in China label too, haha.

If your truck is a GM vehicle, that looks like a GF652 filter. Thats the AC Delco part number. No China!
My truck is a GM, the picture is from Google. I was using as a representation for mine eventually. If you zoom in on that picture, it surely does say "Made in China" on it.
Besides that, it was a joke, son!
I will be happy just to get it running this weekend, but work is going bananas with OT starting tomorrow so I hope I can find the time. @Dave, I got it haha.
Got the valve installed, I have fuel pressure but no luck yet on it running.
FYI I've relocated this into "Other Vehicles". I wouldn't say it's off topic at all!
Good luck getting the truck going |

Compression test? Do you have TBI? Injector pulse? Already checked for spark? |
