Default 94' Dakota w/ 5.2L body lift ?

A buddy who built & installed his own 4" body lift was tellin me yesterday how easy his was and we should do my Dakota. I have ext cab and there is a seperate kit depending on std or ext cab. Reading around it seems like adding a steering shaft splice is required. I also read fan removal and new lower rad hose is required with the V-8. I've got the heavy duty waterpump that the fan threads onto. There's not the typical 4 bolts on the pulley that allows mounting a smaller dia fan. I'm thinking I'd have togo to an E fan or figure out how to drop the rad if possible. Probably fuel filler hose is too short and needs a longer one. I'll have to cut shift linkage and weld, I know about brake lines & hoses. Anyone know what else could be involved??

4 inch body lift is beyond suck.

I wouldnt ever do a body lift unless I needed some clearance for whatever reason.
If you want it up higher, do it right and do a suspension lift.

It has IFS torsion bar frontend and I got it cranked up 2" in front. Go anymore and it's on bumpstops. With 1 1-2" blocks in the rear it sits perfect and I've got maybe $50 into it.

Another 2" of lift with lowish COG and factory ride, gives me 4" overall, will fit 33's, and allows me to still haul a trailer safely. This is my DD/hunting truck, I won't be doing KOH with it.

He's got a point.

Each terrain demands different rigs. Swamp running isn't rock crawling.

Body lift accomplishes pretty much the same as things as enlarging wheel wells, cutting & folding quarters, doing boatsides on an XJ or any other vehicle. It allows more wheel up travel, increases depature angle, keeps rockers from gettin tore up from dragging on stuff.
