Default 78 dj5 lock cylinder

well my granpa bought a mail jeep and lost the key now we cant get it from the guys house he bought it from is therea way to just buy the lock cylinder and put it in and how hard would that be?

Is the lock on the column Or in the dash.

Depends on how the cylinder is mounted most have to be turn to the on position to release the tab that holds them in the housing. Some older model cars are just housing and cylinder together as one unit they usually just bolt in. But if all else falls u can just drill it pull it out. Have to figure out how it's mounted and find a new cylinder first

if i can just remove it and install a toggle switch how would i do that it only gonna be used at my huntin camp so i really dont need a key
