93 5 spd ranger q??
i have a 93 5 spd ranger and im in the process of replacing the clutch and i notice my trans fluid was pitch black is this like an automatic transmission where i cant change it since its spent or is this ok since its a manual?

If the fluid is bad, the tranny's getting overworked and is about to go toes up. Flushing can do damage, not changing the fluid.

I have changed fluid in lots of rangers/f150's not that it matters. It seems most of them will darken the fluid with 50k+ miles, this goes for other manual trans or transfer cases too that take ATF.
Just drain it and refill with what ever kind of ATF you have laying around. If you want to do better then buy a synthetic.
