Questions
1 what color and brand anti freeze.
2. Castrol oil ok?
3. How hard are the belts to change
4. And what trams fluid to use

Castrol is BMW's factory oil... so yes use Castrol only.... 5w 30 syntec for winter and 5w 40 syntech for summer.

dont top off the trans fluid. drain, filter and refill.... if it needs to be topped off than its leaking. Only use the BMW fluids.

as far as coolant goes again use the bmw stuff.

i have 5 friends who are BMW techs and they all say the worst thing to do is run an off brand fluid from their own.

your friends are retarded BMW trained salesmen/lube techs. BMW does not make fluids, they are made by the cheapest source then labeled BMW. Until last week I also owned an Mitsubishi Evo X, same **** on the Evo boards. People saying you cant use anything but Mitsubishi Diaqueen oil in the trans and diffs, until everyone found out that Castrol makes the **** and sell it for $28/pint, Mitsu charges $130/pint.

OP- fortunetly for you the belts from Autozone arent going to know their on a BMW engine and vice versa, buy a well made belt and your fine. As for coolant/hoses, again autozone. You can buy any premixed coolant that says it can be added to any type of coolant. Rubber hoses are rubber hoses. Also, just put 5w30 oil in the motor with a good (read: NOT A ****ING FRAM) filter. You dont need to put a different weight oil in the summer and winter, thats why is 5w30 and not 30SAE. Castrol is fine. read the manual and good luck.
