Default 1998 land rover discovery tdi/auto

about half a year ago i was standing between a cherokee and a discovery.

Ended up buying the discovery since it had only one owner since 1998, plus it was fully served, every single paper is still left everything documented. Definitely one of the last real fresh discovery around here.......so far it has gone 125253miles.

Now i'm not a person who doesn't like to get his hands dirty but it is just ridiculous, after half a week serpentine belt starts squealing, changed it plus tensioner bearing, squeal gone.
Right and left window, sounds like it cracks apart when turning it up and down.
Gearbox sounds very awkward when putting it into R , cant park it in steep hills, since you drop the whole car on the gearbox.

front and rear axle wining...... transfer box wining......
Power steering oil leaking, anti freeze disapears into nowhere.....

Somewhere behind the rear speakers water gets in whenever its raining.....
warped disc brakes after 500 miles, impossible to drive quicker than 50....

Did i make the wrong decision half a year ago???!!!!!!!

What could possibly go wrong on a 1998 cherokee sport petrol, same service history etc?? how are the diesel cherokees?

everyday i have to worry something might blow up.....

I thread of frustration

Jeep is cheaper to fit if something goes wrong.

You should have bought a Jeep.

I've had a couple cherokees and a couple Land Rovers.
Land Rovers are over kill and lots of fun off road.. Take a killer beating, but the cherokees are so cheap to maintain and don't break down to the point you Need to fix them, nearly as often.
Definitely should have purchased a Cherokee if you wanted reliability.
Buy the Land Rover if you want overkill, and the worst dependability rating of the 85 major car manufactures.
