I've got a friend whose Buick won't start unless she holds the column shifter in the right spot. To me it just sounds like something in the SC is messed up and it would just be easier to get a JY column. How much work is it to pull a SC anyways? TIA

There should be two bolts that attach it to the bottom of the dash. Also there should be three or four bolts that attach it to the firewall. At the steering rack there will be a pinch bolt that attaches the shaft to the splined shaft. Unbolt all of them with help and disconnect the electrical connections. Handle with care because if you have an airbag it could go off with a little bit of static spark.

Thanks. I guess I could just go took in my jeep. They're the same pretty much. Too old for those face smashers! Gonna go check out the JY tomorrow.
