ZJ Bi-xenon Projector HID Conversion
Here's my old ZJ (I have a clone of this, but a Limited now):
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-x...0/IMAG1111.jpg This setup I ordered... -Morimoto MH1 4.1's (Thanks Matt @ The Retrofit Source) - $130 -50/55 watt 5000K VVME HID kit - 4300K - $75 -Wiring harness - $12 -OE Jeep Housings - $50-100 if you don't have your own ;) -Lexan - $20 -RTV - $12 You need to make sure to have an oven or heat gun as well so you can use the heat to separate the lens from the housing. Other costs as well I can't think of off the top of my head. In all I spent around 2-4 hours getting everyhing installed and tweaked. The outcome is incredible as I can SEE! And it does not blind oncoming traffic such as an HID PnP kit in a factory house would do. These are 2 of the 4 projectors I have now. The left one is an FX-R 1.1 projector, the right one is a Morimoto MH1 projector w/ shroud. Two are on the Trans Am, 2 are on the Jeep: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z...0/IMAG1143.jpg And here is my Lexan/Polycarbonate - new lenses: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-o...0/IMAG1142.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g...0/IMAG1158.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-B...0/IMAG1159.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B...0/IMAG1160.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-x...0/IMAG1162.jpg Finally put the cell phone down and took out my DSLR. Here are some good shots of the retro I took today: As you can see they are dirty and still need some sanding to get the ends perfectly flat: http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5719-XL.jpg More shots: http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5724-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5728-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5729-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5730-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5734-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5735-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5736-XL.jpg http://pafirefighter11.smugmug.com/A...BCM5737-XL.jpg Rotation needs to be adjusted, but thankfully all I have to do is pull the housings off the Jeep to accomplish this. May even be able to do it in the Jeep if I remove the battery on the one side: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-U...4/IMAG1173.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g...4/IMAG1174.jpg Above cutoff: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-E...4/IMAG1175.jpg Below cutoff: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7...4/IMAG1176.jpg Low beam (FAR more impressive in person): https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5...4/IMAG1179.jpg High beam (FAR more impressive in person): https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--...4/IMAG1180.jpg Here's a video of the setup as well!! |
