Angry Eyes with Vinyl Sheeting

6 Attachment(s)
Here is my take on angry eyes. I have seen a few ways to do this but never like the way I am going to show you. So with out further ado...here it is

*** I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES, DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY,
LAW ENFORCEMENT TICKETS OR INFRACTIONS DUE TO THIS MODIFICATION.
YOU ARE DOING SO ON AT "AT YOUR OWN RISK BASIS" PLEASE BE SAFE!!!***

I began with a sheet of matte black permanent adhesive vinyl sheet I bought from Top Vinyl Films
They have several colors to choose from if you want to match the color of your XJ.

Next, I cut a couple rectangles out of the sheet that are a little larger than to headlight housings.
After doing so I realized I could have cut them smaller to conserve the vinyl for other projects I might want to do in the future.

Before applying the vinyl sheeting inspect your housings as some may have a little bump sticking out from them.
It will take a little massaging to get the vinyl over the bumps to prevent air bubbles and creases.
USE CAUTION when doing this so you don't tare or rip the sheet. Using a heat gun can aid you in this process if the vinyl isn't stretching enough.

I positioned the vinyl sheet at the desired angle I wanted for the angry eyes.
If you mess up on the first try you can slowly peel back the vinyl to start again.
Be patient when laying the sheet over the lens and smooth out the air bubbles as you go.

I RECOMMEND THIS METHOD FOR ALL TYPES OF HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS ESPECIALLY PLASTIC HOUSINGS.

Now that the face of the lens is covered we're going to work the vinyl around the edges of the lens.
Maintain your patience to work out and smooth the air bubbles away.

Now that we have the entire front portion of the lense covered lets trim off any excess vinyl sheeting.
I trimmed the sheet right up to the edge of the housing with a pair of scissors.

Repeat this process on the opposite headlight housing. When complete just install them and enjoy your new angry XJ:thumbup:

This writeup took me a little while to get to but I've had mine on for about a month now. The vinyl has help up pretty well even for living in the desert with blowing sand in the air. There aren't any viable chips or tares and seems to still be sticking on pretty well.

For added durability you can double up your layer with the left over vinyl sheeting.
