IMO those drain plugs can spell trouble if you use them to drain your coolant. Easier and faster (unless skid plate is in the way)to pull off off lower radiator hose.

Haha yea dave i had a face mask and big rubber gloves on when i pulled it...drained out almost too fast but i managed to only spill as much as usual. I got this sweet flush kit that t's off from the heater core hose so you can back flush with your garden hose, its pretty sweet and only 8 bucks! so after the drain, i installed it and put the lower hose back on. flushed it with tap water, and pulled the lower hose off to drain the water then put it back on and filled with 50/50. during the flush, the overflow comes out the radiator fill hole and the kit i had came with a drain that wedges in it so you can direct the drainage. Makes things a lot faster and now i dont have to ever worry about pulling the lower hose off with coolant in it because it will always be after the water flush and it will have only water left in the system.

When I started with Valvoline, we had those T fittings and a flush machine that would flush water or even a cleaner thru the system, then pump the new coolant in. The company stopped doing flushes because of enviromental issues.

We do a lot of coolant flushes at my work. The drains are nice but I have seen a lot break or not seal when you are done. I only use them if the car is pretty new. Pulling the hoses may be messy but you will likely have less problems.
