Default WJ wheel question

Hi all, Got my 4.5" lift kit last week, and now is time for wheels and tires. Can i put a 15" wheel on the wj? Tires seem to be a bit cheaper for a 15" wheel. Thanks in advance.

Only if it's steel even then in some rare cases you may have a little grinding to do on the caliper.

What are you talking about? Tons of guys run 15" steelies on dubs with no issues at all, check out some wj forums. What would be "the right way"?

So are the alumn. wheels thicker or what? I was kinda leaning towards alum, but i kinda like the looks of the black steel too. Also w/ running a 32 or 33 inch tire is there a certain backspace i want? By the way i will be running the Rustys 4.5 advanced kit. All of your help is greatly appreciated.

Right, alum. is thicker. I've never really seen anybody fit 15" aluminum's on a wj but there is a member here, tsconver,i'm pretty sure he runs 15" steel's and he may have more advice for you.

As far as backspacing,it depends on the width of the tire. I run 33X11's and when they were on the stock rims with 6" BS there was barely any rubbing but when i moved to 16X7 cragars with 4" BS i had alot of trimming to do..bumper,rockers,pinch seam, took the inner fenders out,etc.. because the less BS the more it pushes the tire out,i wouldn't recommend going any wider than a 285.
