WJ Replacement Tweeter Speakers
Hi
I purchased a pair of supposedly replacement tweeters for my car. Theyarrived and on attempt to install, found that the cut outs on the speakers donot match the locating lugs on the car itself.
Has anyone had this prob? Have 'they' sent me the wrong speakers??
Regards
Ray

Where did you get them? I went to three different car audio stores each of them tried to sell me some universal or as they called it direct fit tweeters for 02'. I ended up finding these http://www.jgcparts.com/jeeptweeters.html . They were a direct fit, great sound, installation took me about 15 minutes.
You can use the universal ones from a car audio store, but they will most likely require you to modify the base. I have read that guys have taken the old tweeters out cut the magnet and the speaker out and used it as the base for the normally smaller tweeters that can be purchased at car audio stores.

Thanks heaps

I just bought a 2000 WJ this weekend, and noticed that the front tweeters on the dash aren't putting out any sound.
Do you mind if I ask how you access them?
Thanks in advance, I look forward to reading how you resolved your issue on replacement.

IDK, but if it only took 15 minutes, I would assume you just pry off the grill.

Too Easy
Just carefully prise the dash top up and the tweeters are exposed at each end.
Mine is a million bucks after swapping the tweeters!

I am looking for those little metal clips that hold the plastic bezel in place that houses the tweeters. I took mine off to look at the tweeters and one was missing.

Don't you just hate when that happens? LOL. Try a junkyard.
