WJ Fan relay lasts 10 mins then quits and overheats - twice!

Default WJ Fan relay lasts 10 mins then quits and overheats - twice!
I have an 01 WJ. It is overheating (fan doesn't come on) I replaced the fan relay the fan works for about 10 minutes then quits. No fan with or w/o air. I replaced the relay again (2nd time) and same thing fan comes on as needed then shuts off and overheats. Anyone have an idea why the relays are lasting 10 minutes? Short somewhere?

In the past year I have replaced the radiator, condenser, water pump and thermostat and just replaced thermostat again and checked water pump.

are you putting in the correct amperage relay?

Yes, OEM relay. They work the first 10 minutes, get red hot then quit. The fan is tight, no vibration noise or play.

straight wire the fan with a 40 amp or so fuse and measure amperage draw, I bet it's too high, and thus killing your fan relay's

The problem was in fact a bad fan, interesting because it showed no signs of being faulty. Spun freely, no vibration or noise. THANKS for all the help!
