Default WJ computer swap.

Hey all, my wife's WJ is acting up again. Long story short, my new mechanic thinks my old mechanic fried the old computer. It's not recognizing certain functions. He recomends swapping the computer. Everything i understand is thats its just plug and play. Correct? As long as I get one from a donar thats the same year, I-6, laredo I should be good right? Please tell me this is easy. At the local jy it's $50. So thats the route i'm gonna go.

It will need to be flashed so it will communicate with the other computers in the vehicle.

Why can't I manually flash it?

Flashing is a reprogramming of the ECM, a new program is downloaded from Chrysler's network and installed into the ECM. Only a dealer has access to the Chrysler system.

Thanks man. Hopefully it not too expensive to reprogram it.
